How does it help?
This improves efficiency by keeping your units warmer for longer periods of time without needing to run the boiler. Heat convection units (radiators, fan coil units, etc) are typically installed by walls, half the heating surface is heating up the wall instead of the room. The wall will absorb this heat, instead of heating up the room which is the actual goal of the heating system.
The barrier itself will “reflect” heat back into the room instead of letting it be absorbed by the wall. This makes better use of the buildings heating system as rooms will be heated more efficiently requiring the heating system to be turned on less.
